Dogs get thirsty at the exact moment both your hands are full. The Trail Bottle solves the small, constant problem of walks and road trips: press to fill the attached drinking trough, let your dog drink, then release to draw the leftover water back into the bottle — nothing wasted, nothing dripped down your leg.
It rides in a cup holder, clips to a bag or leash, and has the same quiet, matte finish as the rest of the Kindred Tails travel range. One-handed, one-motion hydration for trailheads, rest stops, dog parks and long summer sidewalks.
Food-contact-grade bottle and trough plastics with a silicone seal. Final material grades and capacity certification will be confirmed with our supplier and published here before shipping — this listing is part of our launch preview catalogue.
Rinse daily when in use and wash weekly with warm water and a bottle brush; allow all parts to air dry fully. The seal can be removed for cleaning — refit it carefully to keep the lock watertight.
Fill with clean drinking water before you leave. Unlock, hold the trough level and press to fill; release the button to draw unused water back. Lock before putting it in a bag. Offer water little and often on warm days, and never force a dog to drink. This bottle is for water only — not for hot liquids, milk or supplements.
Hydration timing matters more than quantity. Offer small drinks often rather than a huge drink after hard exercise, and let an overheated dog cool down before drinking deeply. In winter the bottle earns its place too — heated indoor air and dry trails dehydrate quietly. Keep the trough rinsed: a bottle that smells stale will be refused by exactly the dogs who need it most. If your dog is new to the trough, fill it at home first and let them drink from it in the garden; novel objects at the trailhead, mid-thirst, are a harder sell than familiar ones introduced calmly.

The trough and bottle are one sealed unit. Pressing the button opens the channel so water flows into the trough; releasing it and tilting the bottle lets the remaining water drain back inside — so you are not pouring your dog's water onto the trail.
The travel lock closes the dispensing channel for carrying. As with any bottle, make sure the cap is fully seated and the lock engaged after cleaning, and carry it upright where you can.
It is sized for walks and day trips — most owners refill from a tap or a larger vehicle bottle on long hikes. Exact capacity will be published here once supplier-confirmed, so you can judge it against your dog's needs.
